About
I have been working in mental health care for over 20 years and am now a full time lecturer in mental health nursing.
I spent most of my practice in the community setting working in the recovery and rehabilitation of people who suffer from serious mental illness.
I became a specialist practitioner in community mental health in 1999 and gained my BSc (Hons) in Health Studies in 2000.
I became a lecturer practitioner with Bangor University in 2001 and a full time lecturer with Glyndwr University in 2003.
I gained my Msc in Professional Development in 2005.
I am interested in the development of the nursing profession and in service user involvement and empowerment. I am also interested in how people learn and how to help people learn.
I sit on a number of advisory boards and am a reviewer for the Nursing Standard.
